Q. How did you design your project?
A. The internal horn of case is an intuitive model that's existed in sound-amplifying devices, from bugles to bullhorns, for hundreds of years. The shape works by reflecting sound waves in a way that increases their amplitude, which is what is perceived as loudness. Mathematical models also show relationships between horn dimensions and ideal frequency for amplitude.
Q. Are your case and dock available to the public?
A. Yes. This blog features a "CAD Designs" page which displays all of the CAD files that have been utilized in this project. A public link is included that opens the most recent version of the file. From there, anyone with access to a 3D printer can print the case or dock exactly as we have.
